Our Mission

Every student deserves a chance to discover Academic Games, whether or not they have a local team, coach, or program.

We make learning more accessible with kid-friendly lessons, explanations, videos, and practice activities that students can explore at their own pace. There is always another idea to discover and another game to try.

Our Story

AG Academy grew from our experience teaching elementary students through coaching and Camp AG. We met students who loved Academic Games and wanted to keep learning long after camp ended.

Many of those students did not have access to a local program. We created AG Academy to help bridge that gap: a place to keep practicing, exploring, and enjoying Academic Games from wherever they are.

Ethan Chen, co-founder of AG Academy

Ethan Chen

Co-Founder · Web Development & Curriculum

Ethan has participated in Academic Games since fourth grade, competing at numerous state and national tournaments. In ninth grade, he began teaching Academic Games to elementary students through coaching at a local elementary school and Camp AG, a free summer camp dedicated to making Academic Games more accessible. Ethan created the AG Academy website and continues to manage and update the platform while developing its curriculum. He helped create AG Academy after seeing that many students who enjoyed Camp AG wanted to continue playing but did not have access to an Academic Games program. Through AG Academy, he hopes to give those students a way to continue learning while introducing Academic Games to even more students.

Natalie Lu, co-founder of AG Academy

Natalie Lu

Co-Founder · Curriculum Creation

Natalie helped develop the idea for AG Academy and leads the creation of curriculum and instructional videos for the platform. She enjoys Academic Games because it gives students a way to be competitive while still having fun, while also introducing them to academic subjects they may not otherwise find engaging. Natalie cares about AG Academy because it can make Academic Games accessible to more students, especially those in communities where similar programs, resources, or extracurricular opportunities may not be readily available. Through her work on the curriculum, she hopes to help more students discover Academic Games and build an interest in learning through competition and play.

About Camp AG

Camp AG is a free summer program where elementary students learn and play Academic Games. It brings students together to explore new subjects, enjoy friendly competition, and have fun learning.

AG Academy extends that mission online, giving students a way to continue learning beyond camp and helping more students discover Academic Games.
